Dota 2 death prophet midfirst
Dota 2 death prophet midfirst
Hello. Sorry if my english is bad.
I really don’t understand why BloodStone is a “must” on Death Prophet. I have stopped to build it on this hero.
Why I don’t like Bloodstone ? I seriously don’t see why a better respawn time for Death Prophet get a strongly advantage to our team, because the cooldown of his ultimate is very long. Even Tidehunter will be better for pushing by tanking/killing creeps.
When i got my Phase Boots I prefer build a Rod of Atos (very underrated item imo) who give me better mana/HP pool, more damages, and a stronly slow (very powerfull in early/mid game, and still very usefull at end-game). And it’s work well with the ultimate of Death Prophet because slowing a target “increase” your ghosts speed on him, most of the time kill him in a few second (except with high hp and high armour ofc). It’s also really usefull for escape.
Most of the time get this Rod of Atos give a really good KDA ratio to my team and increase my Winrate. Please take a look :satoruiwata: :
As you can see, when i got a Rod of Atos i win and i have a good score. I have even carry the last game with Death Prophet, with high demoralizing mates (spam “it’s gg” “ff plz” “my butt get seriously hurted” all these things) and who are kind of mega-noobs (that undying said he don’t buy courrier cause he’ll carry).
So why a bloodstone on Death Prophet ? It’s too expensive for her imo.
EDIT : Less derp derp english.
Bloodstone isn’t a must on DP; in fact it is a useless item on most heroes in general. You are fine w/ rod of atos. There isn’t too much of a justification of bloodstone on DP because she doesn’t really need the bonus mana regen from charges; if you want to be able to “tank” get mek for 1/2 the price. The only two heroes I would consider bloodstone on is Storm or Timber because they benefit much more from the charges, and in Storm’s case tbh not really room in his build for it unless you are snowballing hard. The primary reason why you would get bloodstone on any hero is for its huge mana regen, otherwise it is really not that useful (pay 5k to stand up to 3 more auto attacks or pay 2.3k for a forcestaff that saves everyone including yourself?)
Atos is good. Me personally, I like phase drums euls into heart/ghost/bkb depending on the game because you have lots of mobility w/ this build and the last item is for survivability.
ps. your english is fine.

That’s really about it. DP’s right clicks are sub-par and her Q does a lot of damage.

There is another reason to build bloodstone, but it’s a bit niche. If you an get the charges the instant respawn can make a big difference on some heroes. If you have room for a luxury item on tinker, try bloodstone(the mana regen also allows him to split push with less pit stops at base).
I am new to dota 2 and I also don’t understand on my build guide a guy says “Build Bloodstone so you can spam death prophet’s Q while on cooldown” ehmm how can someone spam a skill if it is on cooldown?
Death Prophet has two very distinctive traits.
- She is a very great pusher and tower taker. She can get two towers rather than one if both the teams are dead, while most only manage one or one and a half. Her ultimate is the greatest pushing ability in the game, while Q due to it’s low cooldown but high(ish) mana cost can clear creep waves and allow her to focus towers.
- She falls off really hard late game. Her ultimate deals physical damage and Q and W don’t pierces spell immunity, so would barely tickle a BKB addled hard carry with 30+ armor, while her Q isn’t as effective to spam as leshrac’s thunder or necro’s death pulse.
So ultimately, she falls off late game. This means, in effect, she needs a lot of mana regeneration and up time on the field to make sure she does the most damage possible before she falls off. This is where bloodstone comes in, it provides everything a snowballing mid needs, ♥♥♥♥ton of mana regen, a passive that reduces downtime on death, and an active that makes sure your streak is not responsible for a comeback.
She isn’t supposed to be played as a ganker who uses ultimate only to gank. Her ultimate is more suited for team fights when it can do the most damage and can kill towers afterwards. Her Q and W are best suited for team fights as well, where there are multiple targets you can really hinder. She is one of the few heroes who can farm up for a bloodstone really fast if played right, her whole kit gives her a mother load of flash farming and tower taking abilities.
If you want to use bloodstone, rush it straight after boots. Otherwise, it’s not really useful.
