Description

The V-32 class is the latest class to form which provides an inexpensive entry level Radio Control model yacht.

The class was discussed by several clubs and skippers and was decided to form with the intent to remain a strictly controlled One Design class that should keep all V-32’s ever produced competitive within the class forever. One Manufacturer provides built boats or kits for the builder.

A comprehensive V-32 Resource Center is available online at The V32 Resource Center

1.0 General
1.1 In order to maintain the spirit of this class, it is expected that no competitor will endeavor to gain a performance advantage through any modifications to a yacht other than those explicitly described as allowable in the class rules. Violation of this fundamental premise will be grounds for disqualification.

1.2 Any Victor Model Products V-32 boat manufactured after hull number 50 is acceptable. The original hull number shall be attached to the inside of the hull and shall be readily visible.

1.3 Any FCC approved radio control system may be used, as long as it operates on a recognized Surface frequency and employs no more than two channels for control operation.

1.4 A keel, rudder or rig damaged during an event may be replaced only as authorized by the race committee. Only substitute parts manufactured by Victor Model Products are allowable. (Approved September 2013)

2.0 Sail Number
2.1 A boat’s sail number shall consist of it’s hull number, displayed as block numbers at least two (2) inches in height on both sides of the mainsail.

2.2 At least the last two digits of the sail number shall be displayed on both sides of the mainsail, preferred starboard side above port side, and in a color that is clearly legible and in contrast to the sail color, for example black numbers on a white sail. Numbers must be a minimum of two (2) inches in height and preferred three (3) inches or more. If the full number is used the other digits of the number may be smaller. Numbers on the jib are optional.

3.0 Modifications
3.1 Changes to yacht configuration, materials, or construction not specifically permitted by these rules are not allowable. Lack of specific prohibition does not imply approval.

3.2 The sail control unit, rudder servo, receiver, antenna, batteries and other control equipment may be located in any position inside the hull.

3.3 Other than the control equipment, the entire boat from deck down shall conform to the plans provided with the Victor Model Products V-32 kit with the following exceptions:

3.3.1 The on/off switch and antenna may protrude above the deck.

3.3.2 One drain/access hole, not to exceed .75 inches in diameter may be added to the stern or deck.

3.3.3 Additional internal bracing is allowed.

3.4 No modifications of any kind are allowable to the hull, keel, or rudder.

3.5 The original mast (and crane), spars (jib club and mainsail boom) shall be used. Replacement sails must be single panel constructed from woven material with a thickness of 0.004 to 0.007″. (Approved September 2013)

3.6 It is acceptable to modify or replace any of the following rigging: (1) sheets; shrouds; stays; (2) sheet, shroud, sail, and spar attachments and control fittings; (3) goose neck; (4) boom vang. Lower shrouds may be added so long as they have the same deck attachment point as the uppers.

3.7 The mast and spars shall not be shortened or lengthened, nor shall their cross sections be altered in any manner.

3.8 No counterweights of any kind shall be attached to the spars or mast, nor shall they be modified to reduce their weight.

3.9 The sails shall not be altered in any manner that results in increased sail area (including roach). Up to three (3) jib battens and four (4) main battens are allowed. Battens shall be no longer than 30% of the distance from leech to mast, measured perpendicular to the leech at the point of attachment. The head, foot and clew of the main and jib may be reinforced with any added material up to a distance of three (3) inches beyond the original corner grommet location. The grommet may be replaced so it will also grip the new material. Wind telltales may be added to the sails and rig but may not extend above the mast crane.

3.10 The jib stay and jib hoist shall be attached to the mast at the original location.

3.11 No part of a rig shall project beyond the extreme ends of the hull.

3.12 If necessary to meet the minimum weight requirement, fixed ballast shall be attached inside the hull. No moveable ballast of any kind is permitted.

4.0 Weight 4.1 The total ready-to-sail weight, including control equipment and batteries, shall not be less than 6. 0 pounds.

Morgan out island 41′ cutter sailboat

Posted Over 1 Month

1974 Morgan out island 41 sloop/cutter. Designed for Bahamas charter, this full keel, heavy displacement, shallow draft boat is perfect for liveaboard cruising. Very roomy, stable, and sea kind, the Morgan OI41 is a joy to sail – both coastal and offshore. She points comparatively well with her cutter rig, and is extremely stable – tracking like a train. Come take her for a sea-trail, you’ll see. I am the third owner of this beautiful yacht. It was ordered custom from the factory for the original owner with every available option. Walk-through. Teak cockpit accents, toe-rail, and handholds. Solid cruiser. She has been across the Pacific twice, and through the Panama Canal three times. 320gal water and 140gal diesel capacity. Recent refit to prepare for another extended cruise, but owner’s plans have changed. Everything comes with the boat; spares, 100’s of feet of extra line, blocks, rigging, nuts, bolts, filters, 2 spare alternators, gusher manual pump, hoses, fuel filters, oil filters, racor filters, perkins parts, bosun’s chair, ditch bag, life raft, fishing poles, propane, 140gal diesel, tools, laser thermometer, galley foot pump, fiberglass repair tools, batteries, anchor balls, bimini, MOB strobe, more, too much to list. Everything I’ve done to this boat has been done to the highest standard, no short-cuts or shoddy workmanship. I spared no expense to do it correctly. That’s something you won’t find on 90% of boats you’ll look at. Come see for yourself. email for full specs
