Vote for Dota 2 at ESEA!

ESEA is considering adding an ARTS to their game list. If you would like to see Dota 2 played. Vote here (no registration required):

Teamliquid, we must win the internets, BATTLE STATIONS, VOTE, VOTE, VOTE!

You realize that they are just gauging interest and this is not a final decision? Obviously the LoL vs Dota 2 will give them a lot of hits. In the end it wont really matter.

ESEA has run successful leagues for many years and I love to see dota 2 there. This poll is for showing that we are interested too.

Do you really think an internet poll is the right way to test out market interest? A straight up undergraduate business major could even prove how that is so so so wrong to you. The idea of a league picking up a new title should always be the result of careful calculation between interest of many parties involve, event locations, organizer assets. It isnt a high school club where you ask the member on what game do they play to host the event. Market study is an important part of a business and if you are telling me that this poll gona have a seriously influent on their final decision, i doubt that the league gona be any how success.

We all know who ESEA are, its the site that sell premium membership so people could earn cash via referral links, they are in thirst for site traffic. About new title: its all depends on where the location of their next LAN gona be, obviously NA will be blessed with LoL fans mean while EU could provide a much better DotA2 audience. Not even counting the fact that if Riot smell this will anyhow profit them, they just gona pump raw cash to push it to LoL, there is nothing better in promoting a league than a generous sum of prize money. Lets be real here: unless your market is strictly China/South East Asia or CIS countries, 9/10 times hosting LoL over DotA2(if you cant do both) will always be more profitable alone but sum in the support from Riot.

Edit: This is not even mentioning the inaccurate information a poll can bring due to the uneven amount of exposure the poll itself has in each gaming community. The poll result will be inaccurate and the data it yield is worth next to nothing.

Like really? That is not what ESEA is known for at all. They just started a referral system for cash 6 days ago, while ESEA has been around for almost 10 years.

Honestly, i don’t understand the hostility to a league that is trying to gauge interest in non-FPS games as they usually highly market themselves to the Counter Strike crowd. Take it with a grain of salt, and vote for what you want then move on.

No matter which aspect of Dota captures your interest, all players benefit from improvements in the performance of the game client. With that in mind, today’s update delivers multiple changes focused on providing smooth and consistent gameplay regardless of the hardware setup you’re running.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve released many small incremental updates aimed at improving client performance. In today’s update, we’re releasing many more fixes that will also improve overall performance and FPS stability. Specifically, low-end machines will see a higher peak frame rate, while high-end machines will experience improved frame-rate consistency, resulting in fewer performance dips.

Exclusive Io Arcana

Some fans may have noticed that Io was not included in this year’s Arcana vote—indeed, we removed the wispy Fundamental from the selection process for pressing ceremonial concerns. But Io’s influence reaches into the very fabric of the Dota universe itself, and many astute fans found they could still hear the comforting sounds of Io’s benevolence seeping through the stream of rewards by clicking on the blank space at Battle Level 245. With today’s update, however, Io has at last relocated directly into the line of level rewards to unveil an all-new Arcana. Dota 2 major registration to vote

After seeing Io float away with a second-place finish in last year’s hotly-contested final round, we decided this year that the wisp deserved to skip the vote and select its own favored form. And what a heart-warming form it is! Now available to all Battle Pass owners who surpass level 245, the Benevolent Companion Arcana imbues Io with the form and function of the best friend anyone could ask for.

Featuring new animations, custom ability effects, custom sounds, and a special death effect, this exclusive Arcana can be obtained by reaching level 245 in The International 2017 Battle Pass, and—much like the Kunkka Prestige item at level 225—will not be available to market or trade. Don’t miss out—make sure to level up your Battle Pass before the end of The International to claim yours. Then take heart, all ye who unlock this reward, for Io knows that no matter where the tide of battle leads you, the bonds of friendship will always carry the day.

The Kiev Major Champions

Congratulations to OG for claiming the Mystic Staff trophy to win their fourth Dota 2 Major Championship crown.

OG’s path through the Main Event bracket was forged with hard-fought victories over three stalwart teams. Managing to fend off a rally by Team Random and beat back early aggression by Team Faceless for a pair of 2-1 victories, OG then outlasted a resilient EG squad in two lengthy matches for a 2-0 series win and a berth in the Grand Finals.

Facing crowd favorite Virtus Pro in the best-of-five decider, OG jumped to an early one-game lead before dropping two straight matches to find themselves on the brink of elimination. Responding with a victory in game four, they set up only the second game-five deciding match in Major Championship circuit history.

Despite stellar play by Virtus Pro to grab an early advantage in the final match, OG held on to recover en route to another trip to the winner’s circle. As the only team with multiple Major Championship victories, the only prize OG has yet to claim is The International itself.

With The Kiev Major now complete, we would like to thank all of the participating teams and fans in Kiev, and all of the fans around the world who tuned in to watch the action unfold. We look forward to welcoming teams and fans alike to The International on August 7 – 12 in Seattle.
