Dota 2 Battle Pass 2018: The Underworld Awaits You

UPDATE : It is finally here. The Dota 2 Battle Pass for The International 2018 is now available for all fans, bringing forth not only new immortal items and cosmetic items but some other exciting new features as well. If you have been desperately waiting for new items to be added to Dota 2, your time has come. Get your hands on the all-new Battle Pass, and experience Dota 2 like never before.

According to the official post, Valve is taking Dota 2 to an all-new level, this year. We have seen the Battle Pass themed after the underwater life during the Battle Pass 2017, but this time, the developers are taking one step further as this time, Dota 2 is heading to a place called Emerald Abyss.

Dota 2 New Immortals

Furthermore, like previous Battle Passes, the developers are back with three more Immortal Treasures which bring with them some awesome cosmetic items. The list for the heroes which are going to include Immortals in the Treasure I, include Underlord, Vengeful Spirit, Terrorblade, Ancient Apparition, Riki, Spirit Breaker, Lich and Phantom Assassin who receives the very first Ultra Rare Immortal.

More New Features

Battle Pass 2018 comes packed with some other interesting new features as well, including a brand new multi-team dungeon clash called The Underhollow. In this new mode, players will battle through a labyrinth filled with monsters, marvels and many other three-player enemy squads in search for Roshan’s rarest cheese. This is similar to the unique game modes we have seen in the past, especially the last year’s Siltbreaker.

The Dota 2 The International 2018 Battle Pass looks quite interesting. However, the one feature we are most excited about is the brand new Role-Based Matchmaking Queue. It fixes one of the biggest issues of the game. If you have been ranting about playing with teams filled with carries, this new feature will help you get out of that.

Dota 2 Battle Pass 2018: What to Expect

Now that The International 8 is just around the corner, the entire Dota 2 community was hoping for Valve to finally announce its 2018 Battle Pass for the game. However, with the developers releasing Dota Plus a couple of months back, everyone assumed that was it. Well, it seems we were all wrong as the developers are set to officially announce the Dota 2 Battle Pass 2018 today.

At first, news regarding the Dota 2 Battle Pass 2018 came from the official Dota 2 Chinese Weibo account which stated that the Battle Pass will be releasing today. However, since it was a third-party source, and not the official Dota 2 account, many did not take the news seriously. Well, just a couple of hours later, the official Dota 2 account on Twitter posted this:

According to the post, Dota 2 Battle 2018 is set to release sometime today. Now, no one really knows what the Battle Pass will include but this much is confirmed that, this year Valve will be following a subterranean theme. And from what we have seen in the past, this means a lot of underground-theme sets and cosmetic items will be introduced in the game.

Furthermore, with Valve releasing the Pudge Arcana back in April , we believe the developers will also announce the Rubick Arcana in the 2018 Battle Pass. Previously, the runners-up of the Arcana Contest usually managed to get an Arcana of their own midway through the Battle Pass. But this is just a speculation. Hence, take it with a grain of salt.
