Dota 2: Patch 7.22h is Now Live
The newest patch in Dota 2 is now live! However, fans didn’t expect Dota 2’s Patch 7.22h and its changes.
As you remember, Valve announced that there would be two new heroes coming to Dota 2 this fall. Well, it’s been around a month and a half now and there is no sign of them yet. Instead, Valve decided to release a small update aiming at balancing a couple of things. Let’s take a look at what’s new.
Patch 7.22h General & Items changes
From now on, the basic neutral creeps will provide 5% less EXP. This might not seem like much, but the change adds up, especially when you clear big stacks.
In terms of the items, Valve has nerfed Solar Crest, Medallion of Courage and Phase Boots in terms of their armor. In addition, Ring of Protection is no longer available in the side shop. This means that you won’t be able to complete a Ring of Basilius in the lane itself.
Hero Changes
Kunkka – The famous Admiral has been one of the most dominating heroes in the professional scene this year. Needless to say, this led to many different nerfs, especially in the last couple of patches. After all, he is one of the strongest midlaners in the game. Most recently, patch 7.22h brings longer cooldowns to his Ultimate and “X Marks the Spot.”
Mirana – Potm is a very versatile hero that has seen many changes throughout the years. Once a formidable mid laner, players usually play Mirana as a position four. There are many reasons for this, but one of them is the fact that her arrows can land easy kills early on. In order to cope with that, IceFrog decided to lower the arrows’ speed, as well as reducing the attack speed bonus after using “Leap.”
Night Stalker – Many consider NS to be one of the strongest heroes in the current meta. Naturally, everyone expected a NS nerf, just maybe not this much. Hopefully, the four nerfs in this patch won’t kill him entirely.
Tiny – Another very strong hero who is able to dictate the tempo of the game, IceFrog realized how broken “Toss” was and decided to increase its cooldown. In addition, “Avalanche’s” starting damage was also lowered, allowing the more squishy heroes to survive his deadly two-button combo.
Windranger – Many people might think that the -1 mana regen reduction won’t affect WR much. Well, this is definitely not the case because this hero has four active spells. To makes matters worse, the hero is not really great at building mana-regen items, apart from Linken’s. The changes won’t necessarily kill her from the competitive scene but it should have an impact on the pick rating.
