Top 5 Plays from MarsTV Dota 2 League Winter 2015
The MarsTV Dota 2 League Winter 2015 has concluded with a clash between the East and the West as EHOME swept Evil Geniuses 3-0. Despite the one-sided series, the tournament as a whole featured nothing but high-skill play.
From game-winning plays like multi-man Black Holes or Chronospheres, to the impressive micro plays like an Aegis steal or using illusions to bait, there was no shortage of big plays at MDL.
ddc’s save and turnaround
Sylar was a bit too deep in Game 3 between LGD-Gaming and Newbee in the Loser’s Round 2, but he Force Staffed away le’s Earth Shaker, preventing his killing blow.
This was likely a misclick as he more likely meant to Force Staff Sylar, but the end result was the same: Sylar got out. ddc turned with a Paralyzing Cask into Death Ward, securing three more kills and completing a team wipe.
Evil Geniuses’ AoE salvo on OG
In Game 1 of the Loser’s Final between Evil Geniuses and OG, Winter’s Curse, Torrent, Ghostship, Sanity’s Eclipse and Flamebreak were all dropped on the heads of OG. They fired back with Ravage and Magnetize, but it was far too late and EG got a clean team wipe.
Blade of Death
Finger of Laguna, Laguna Death, Finger Blade, whatever you want to call it, old chicken and LaNm’s Lina/Lion ultimate kill on Arteezy was borderline BM; The play took place in Game 1 of the Grand Finals between Evil Geniuses and EHOME.
Arteezy’s Nature’s Prophet teleported in to support his team in the midst of a fight, but LaNm and old chicken were waiting in the trees and opened up, finishing him off with Laguna Blade and Finger of Death. Commentary provided by AdmiralBulldog:
xiao2lei hits a ‘Universe Chronosphere’
The play is self-explanatory. In Game 1 between Newbee and OG, xiao2lei on Faceless Void counter-initiated with a Chronosphere that Evil Geniuses’ Universe would be proud of. He caught three, two of which were on the edges of the sphere, securing four kills for his team.

With a Manta Style in hand, Miracle – pulled off the oldest trick in the book in Game 2 between OG and LGD-Gaming during the semifinals, baiting an initiation on his illusion.
Miracle – pushed the top lane deep into enemy territory and popped his Manta in full view of LGD. He instantly took control of one of the illusions and positioned it well in the back lines, as if it were his actual hero. The ruse worked beautifully as rOtk committed a Chronosphere on the illusion, to the shock of Team Liquid’s MATUMBAMAN:
