larry: According to the 2-85 factory manual, assuming the cooler and lines are OK, the following should be considered in the order listed: Gerotor pump (this feeds the cooler, could be worn), then the hydraulic pump (could be worn compensator or worn valve plate/rotating assembly), then in order of descending probability of being the culprit, these valves: the unloader valve, relief valve, priority valve, pressure reducing valve, steering control unit, brake valve, and PTO valve, all of these valves could be leaking and that could cause overheating. The factory manual details the tests to do on each one of these to check it out. Also could be the application or equipment the hydraulics are hooked up to. hope this helps. You might want to get a factory manual. It’s worth the 60 bucks, better than the generic ones. get it from an AGCO dealer. good luck to a fellow White owner.
